Both should be operational, particularly the BNSE is in good working condition.
The BNSE 3001 is in good condition BESIDES the various railings. Some of them are detached in certain places but are still on the locomotives. See the images. These are mainly on the front and back.
The Santa Fe 5628 was bought used and seems like a junker train. The electronics should work but are not expected to be incredible. The front couple is missing and some of the wheels were replaced. Please look at the images.
