CESARE PICCINI Suede Leather & Metal Bag

Rare 1960’s CESARE PICCINI Olive Color Soft Suede Leather with Gunmetal Hardware shoulder or crossbody handbag. 9 1/4” tall, 7 3/4” wide, and 2 1/2” thick when filled. (Otherwise, when this Mod bag has little in it, it creases nicely to a 1” slim thickness, so skinny.) CESARE PICCINI was a famous handbag designer in Florence, Italy. Known for Mod Midcentury design, clean lines, very well constructed, and edgy in a nod to the burgeoning Hippie Culture of the day. Push button, secure top closure, that closes like a vault across the top of the bag with all the darkened gunmetal fitting perfectly, like a nice closing luxury car door. This bag has hardly been used. Only wear is age changes, like the label inside being hard to read from the faded gold lettering and the gunmetal treatment is giving way where the metal meets the leather (but this looks fine, like a normal patina for a 60 year old bag). Black silk and leather interior with side pocket, no sign of use inside. Handle drop is 19”.
